2018 marks the Country Tractor Run's
DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC?
THE COUNTRY TRACTOR RUN DOES.
On the Saturday after Father's Day in June. Many people from surrounding communities gather together in New Effington, SD to drive antique tractors or ride on a people hauler traveling on a scenic route averaging around 50 miles.
They stop at check points for a snack or lunch break put on by volunteer groups, organizations or certain individuals who are kind enough to donate their time and food.
After the tractors arrive back to town, there is a parade down main street for the many who have gathered. Then in the New Effington Community Center is a free will evening meal.
After the meal head on down to Main Street, bring along your chairs and enjoy the music at a street dance put on by an area band or DJ. During the street dance there is a live Auction, by Ostby Auctioneering, of items that have been donated by various individuals and a raffle drawing of a pedal tractor (donated by local implements} a quilt (locally made) and a Terry Redlin print. All these items donated from everyone are auctioned or raffled off to help raise money for the cause. Helping a special young person(s) Wish come true.
